Showmanship

Sponsored by- Leather Ridge Stable & Diana Schaefer

The ASIYP Showmanship Badge is designed to be a chance for a rider who may have exhibited in a Showmanship class and is also interested in learning more about it. This badge also requires a bit of learning about In Hand classes in other divisions as well.

Showmanship

$15

There are more than just one type of "In Hand" classes to compete in at most shows. But the Showmanship class might be of interest to our junior exhibitor riders who are looking to try something different out of the saddle. The questions in this badge are based primarily on Showmanship rules for the Saddlebred division which may differ from Morgans, Quarter Horses, etc. Your answers will be based on Saddlebred Showmanship procedures as a whole. Research & learn about the different aspects needed for participating in a Showmanship class such as proper attire, how to properly hold your reins, what the class should be judged on and more! Also learn about other In hand classes such as a "Model" class or a 'Halter" class. And if you've shown in a Showmanship class, even at a barn show, there is a chance for you to share that as well!

Many of our badges have additional resources setup as study guides. These might be additional paper forms that you might need for that badge, links to resources to help you learn and study before starting that badge or just suggestions on topics to search online for study material! This will be found in a link before you begin the badge itself after clicking 'Get Started' above!
