Driving

Sponsored by- Kay Richardson

The ASIYP Driving Badge is a fun way to dig deeper into what is involved when you hitch up a horse to go for a drive! Take some time to learn about what it takes to be properly prepped for putting a horse in harness, including harness parts, styles of carts and driving and maybe even to sharing your own driving experiences.

Ever see a driver of their horse pulling a cart and think, that looks like fun, I think I'd like to try that some day?! If your answer is yes, then get started on the ASIYP Driving Badge to learn more about what it takes to get a horse harnessed up and ready to pull that buggy! This badge asks you to do a little research and learn more about driving vehicles and style, harnesses and the purpose of the parts associated with it and even helps you learn more about what driving horses have been used for from military, to work and transportation and also for sport & recreation. Dust off your sidechecks, traces and lines and see what you think of getting "behind the wheel" of a horse in harness!!

Many of our badges have additional resources setup as study guides. These might be additional paper forms that you might need for that badge, links to resources to help you learn and study before starting that badge or just suggestions on topics to search online for study material! This will be found in a link after you begin the badge itself, after clicking 'Get Started' above!
